Enterprise Change Group (ECG) Supports Landmark Regional Dialogue and AYPN Strategic Plan Launch in Cape Town

Cape Town, South Africa  May 2026

The Enterprise Change Group (ECG) is proud to support a landmark regional dialogue on political finance transparency in Southern Africa, taking place from 4–7 May 2026 in Cape Town. The event will mark the official launch of the African Young Parliamentarians Network (AYPN) Strategic Plan, a major milestone in strengthening youth-led governance across the continent.

A key highlight of the convening will be the launch of the AYPN Strategic Plan, the first comprehensive roadmap designed to guide the network’s growth into a sustainable, pan-African institution. The strategy sets out a clear vision to amplify young parliamentarian voices in governance, strengthening legislative impact, and enabling coordinated action on critical issues such as corruption, fiscal accountability, and democratic reform.

The Enterprise Change Group (ECG) played a central role as the consulting partner in the development of the AYPN Strategic Plan. Working closely with AYPN leadership, ECG supported the design of a forward-looking, actionable strategy that establishes a strong foundation for institutional sustainability, partnerships, and long-term impact.

The launch event will bring together key stakeholders, including AYPN leadership, development partners, and parliamentary representatives, to reflect on the network’s journey and mobilize support for its next phase. ECG will also contribute to the strategic dialogue, reinforcing its commitment to strengthening governance systems and supporting transformative leadership across Africa.

Conference and AYPN Launch Details:

  • Convened by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Africa Anti-Corruption Hub, with support from Norway, the Regional Parliamentary Dialogue on Political Party and Campaign Financing Transparency will bring together approximately 30 young parliamentarians from across Southern Africa. The dialogue aims to address growing concerns around opaque political financing systems and their links to corruption, illicit financial flows, and weakened democratic institutions.
  • The four-day programme will culminate in the adoption of the Cape Town Declaration on Political Finance Transparency, outlining a shared commitment by young parliamentarians to advance reforms and promote integrity in political finance systems across the region.
  • Grounded in the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) and the COSP Resolution 11/7, the dialogue will equip participants with practical tools and policy insights to strengthen transparency, accountability, and oversight in political finance systems. Discussions will explore regional regulatory frameworks, emerging risks, and opportunities for legislative reform, while fostering collaboration among young leaders across the region.
  • As AYPN continues to grow as a unifying platform for young legislators across Africa, this convening signals a significant step toward building a more transparent, accountable, and collaborative democratic future.
